UBER Tip Clarification
The ISMMS Uber program is a privilege to support travel to/from clinical sites from your local address, which is defined as the location of your residence during medical school. Additionally, the program supports baseline charges and not optional tips for the driver (although likely well-deserved). If you wish to tip, choose one of these options: 1) tip in cash or 2) after the ride concludes, you can choose another payment method to leave a tip for up to 30 days after the ride. Tipping 10-15 percent for average to good service or up to 20 percent for exceptional service is customary. When you have a question, contact Jennifer Bridie at jennifer.bridie@mssm.edu.

Pathway to Residency Interviews
Our GME colleagues are doing their best to meet the timeline of getting interview invitations out; however, in hindsight, we should have recognized how busy the first week or so of July is for our programs given the arrival of new residents and the start of a new academic year, and then there’s COVID. So sit patiently and be assured that all PDs have received your application and supporting materials.

Town Hall Moved to Thursday
The incoming students received the news of a remote fall semester and not moving to campus a couple of days ago. We feel it’s important to visit with the class ahead of a housing deadline to submit an appeal (due next Thurs) and to do this, we are shifting your town hall to Thursday at 4pm at https://mssm.zoom.us/j/95638620655.
It is also important to remind everyone that class meetings are considered an excused absences to allow for participation. The time away is limited to the meeting duration. Anyone unable to attend will continue to receive the recording.
