Aron Hall Census Registry

All Aron Hall Residents need to complete this form as soon as possible to get an accurate census count. This list will allow our Housing and Real Estate staff to follow-up with anyone planning to vacate. We know your plans may change and it is important to know how we can best support students who remain in Aron Hall.

Aron Hall Gym Closure

Effective March 17 at 8am, the Aron Hall gym will close until further notice. We know this is another disappointing development that impacts morale and community. While maintaining the necessary personal precautions and social distancing of at least 6-feet from others, we encourage fresh air and outdoor recreation in Central Park. We are fortunate to have an amazing park steps from campus for your enjoyment.

Rumor Control and Mandatory Reporting

Even with 24/7 news coverage, electronic messages and our best efforts to communication effectively, efficiently and in coordinated ways, the propensity for misinformation, rumors and assumptions occurs and this is distracting and harmful. Anyone with a concern or question is encouraged to ask via the community dialogue email address listed above and if you prefer to remain anonymous, you can call or text Dr. Tara Cunningham in Student Affairs at 646-596-2123.

Everyone is considered a mandatory reporter during this public health crisis. It is important to notify Dr. Lori Zbar if you are being tested to receive the necessary precautions while pending results, which includes self-quarantine in a private room that is provided by ISMMS. Aron Hall is not the facility for self-quarantine.

Student Labor Pool

The enormous and heartfelt outpour of student requests to support the community is beautiful. Everything we do must be coordinated for the safety of you and those we are assisting. Student Council is partnering with the Department of Medical Education to roll out a process for student involvement based on the needs of our clinical teams. This will be an on-going and interactive process that will require flexibility, understanding and patience.

Virtual Student Town Hall

Please mark your calendar for a virtual Town Hall at 4pm on Wednesday, March 18. A method to submit questions ahead and during the Town Hall will be sent soon.

Elective Options & Credit Provided

While we adjust to our new educational environment, we are creating a catalog of elective courses that will allow students to remain engaged and on task for graduation. Additionally, anyone who works in the Student Labor Pool will receive credit for their time spent.

Telehealth Update

We continue to modify the approach to continued care for our students.
