Aron Hall Visitors

The ISMMS leadership continues to assess the evolving COVID-19 situation and its impact on our learning and living environments. After ongoing consultations with our infectious disease experts, we have decided to extend the current suspension of the Aron Hall Guest Policy until further notice.

We do not take lightly the impact this policy has on your daily lives. We are committed to continue working with student leaders to address issues like social isolation that can result from these circumstances. Our highest priority remains protecting the health and safety for Aron Hall’s residents and building staff.

We will reassess this matter in the coming weeks and keep you informed. Thank you for your continued compliance and support of our Housing and Security teams.

Site Visits

Leadership from the Department of Medical Education has begun the process of meeting with our health system and affiliate sites to talk through the educational recovery plan. This past week we met with Mount Sinai Beth Israel Site Directors and Coordinators to see how the site is doing. They are very excited to have students return in June.

The curricular thrust of IF5 is to bridge the gaps identified due to the disruption of ASM Year 2 and the preparatory skill sessions required to start the clerkships in the era of COVID. Look out for further details in future communications.

Class of 2023

This week’s Town Hall gathered 89 participants for the second round of discussions and information from various presenters, including your class representative, Fares. The most amazing part of the Town Hall was the amazing level of engagement through the “show up” challenge – 90% of the participants turned on their cameras and enjoyed the company of others! Way to go! You’ve set a very high bar for future classes.

The recording can be reviewed HERE.
