Role of Class Representatives

Recently we were asked by some class reps about how best a class rep can partner with MedEd and what the specific role is for class reps. We’re glad you asked!

The role of the class rep is critical. Class representatives reflect and advocate for the interests of their class members, across academic and social aspects of student life, and partner with the administration and faculty on various initiatives. The Department of Medical Education relies on partnerships with class reps throughout the academic year in a variety of forums, monthly class rep lunches with members of the administration, monthly Steering Committee meetings with the Dean’s office, and through many informal avenues. There are also times where getting feedback from reps is critical to moving forward on a major initiative. This role has become even more important over the past few months as the COVID-19 crisis. Each class rep has partnered with us to ensure we could get students the information they needed.

We want to take a moment to thank each of the class reps for their important work over the last few months.
