CLERKSHIP SPECIFIC SKILLS - PEDIATRICS
Session Description: In pediatrics, the stop sepsis protocol – based on patients' vital signs triggers an algorithm that mandates assessment by nursing and doctors and leads to more rapid evaluation to prevent the negative consequences of delay in diagnosis of sepsis. In addition, the Neonatal NSV early detection - a new protocol that mandates LFTs be sent on patients under 14 days old - seeks to prevent the delay in the diagnosis of HSV in neonates.
