HIGH VALUE CARE - SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION
Session Description: Misuse and overuse of medical interventions that do not directly improve a patient’s health contribute significantly to the unsustainable growth of healthcare spending. This session's goal is to determine whether diagnostic tests and treatments for a disease provide good value, i.e. medical benefits that are commensurate with their costs and outweigh any harm by analyzing their benefits, harms, and costs based on the best available evidence.

- Define high value care
- Describe the American College of Physicians five-step model for delivering high value care
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines and clinical decision tools to promote high value care
- Identify specific opportunities to bring high value care into their daily practice
- Apply these skills to the clinical experiences
