MEDICINA EN ESPANOL IMMERSION PROGRAM

Session Description: The Spanish language barrier represents a major source of frustration for 3rd-year medical students in addition to posing a significant impediment to quality of care as well a possible course for serious medical errors and near-misses for Mount Sinai Health System's large Hispanic patient population. The Immersion Program sponsored by CMCA remedies this by providing a comprehensive review of medical Spanish vocabulary in the context of taking a medical history and follow-up care. Note that the course is designed for students who already have a basic understanding of Spanish.
