Session Description: This session provide students with a fundamental knowledge of common imaging techniques they will encounter in the clerkships. The goal is not to teach students how to interpret radiographic images, but rather to give students an introduction to the indications, contraindications and limitation of common imaging modalities they will encounter in the clerkships.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, the student learners will: List the imaging modalities used to evaluate common chief complaints

  1. Describe the indications and contraindications for common imaging modalities

  2. Describe the possible risks of common imaging modalities

  3. Choose the most appropriate imaging modality for common clinical scenarios

  4. Apply this knowledge to your upcoming clerkships
