DIETS AND NUTRITION**
Session Description: Food allergies and dietary errors are elements to patient safety that often goes overlooked. We prescribe a variety of diets for patients in a hospital setting, ranging from a normal diet to nothing by mouth depending on the patient’s needs and restrictions. Delivering the right diet to the right patient at the right time is a carefully orchestrated team effort. The medical staff prescribe the diet, and the nursing and dietary staff ensure that patients receive meals that are tailored to specific health conditions and designed to support continued recovery and health. In this session, we will describe the various diets and indications.
