Ethical Issues in Patient Safety
Session Description: The session is an ethical reasoning exercise dedicated to addressing 3 important topics in ethics and patient safety. As part of the medical ethics exercise, the learners will be assigned a case that tackles an ethical dilemma about how to best promote patient safety. In addition, they will be given two short articles that should be used to formulate a resolution to the primary ethical issue in the assigned case.

- Identify the primary ethical issue in the assigned case
- Describe conflicting obligations for the physician
- Propose a resolution by prioritizing one of the obligations of the physician
