HOW TO USE LUCIDCHART
Assignment – By September 30 at 5pm: Upload a Process Map to Your CPI Group on Blackboard
Create your process map on LucidChart.com (optimized on Chrome web browser)
To sign up:
- Your CPI Team Preceptor will send 2 Team Leaders an invitation to join their educational team on LucidChart, so that you can collaborate on the map with your teammates and preceptor.
- Anyone who signs up on their own is more than welcome, since student accounts are free! However, Team account subscriptions are limited, so keep this in mind when making your accounts in case you want to share your account information with any of your teammates.
- From this email invitation,the link will prompt you to enter your information (Your Full Name and Password) to get started. Your username will be your Icahn email address.
To create your process map:
- Click on My Documents, and then +Document. This will start you out with a blank document.
- Drag and drop items from the left side shapes tool bar.
- Clicking on ‘More Shapes’ underneath the tool bar and adding the Value Stream >Value Stream Shape Block to your shapes tool bar will give you the Starburst Shape for your map.
- Connect items by click on their edge and dragging, which will create a line that you can connect to the other item
- Click within most items to type text.
- There are many additional options along the top tool bar, including colors, types of lines, etc.
- To change page orientation between landscape and portrait – Click on the Page dropdown menu along the top of your document, and choose the alternate orientation.
- Drag and drop items from the left side shapes tool bar.
- If you need additional LucidChart help, click on the Help dropdown menu along the top of your document. There is a Help Center with Q&As, in-document step-by-step assistance, and tutorial pages.
- There are chat options with Team users that are active at the same time, and updates to documents are live (just like Google Docs)
When you are done with your process map:
- Click on ‘BlankFlowchart’ at the top left of your document to rename your document by your CPI group
- Example: Team A Process Map for InFocus 6
- Save the document as a PDF with this document name
- Click on the File dropdown menu at the top of your document>Download As>PDF
- Upload to the Assignment on Blackboard
- Go to Assignments>Upload of CPI Process Map - InFocus 6
- Upload the pdf file of your document
- Click Submit
Note: Only one process map upload is required per CPI Group!
