ORC OVERVIEW

Edit

The Online Radiology Course (ORC) consists of 18 required and 1 optional interactive virtual patient cases which encompass the learning objectives of the Association of University Radiologists (AUR) and the Alliance of Medical Student Educators in Radiology (AMSER) National Medical Student Radiology Curriculum.

Each of the 18 modules have been correlated with the core clerkships. Successful completion of each clerkship requires satisfactory completion of the associated ORC modules in Aquifer and quizzes located on Bb. (see ORC clerkship modules)

Each module teaches a patient-centered approach to imaging, foster self-directed and independent study, and build clinical problem-solving skills. They utilize the ACR Appropriateness criteria to teach an evidence-based approach to imaging and also link students to additional excellent interactive radiology resources on the Web.

Successful completion of this online course (satisfactory completion of 18 modules plus passing clerkship associated module quizzes) is a MANDATORY requirement prior to graduation.
